This eight-inch scale ROMULAN action figure based on the original STAR TREK television series was produced by Mego as part of their 8-inch line of Star Trek action figures.
The Mego Romulan figure appears to be modeled after actor Mark Lenard who portrayed a Romulan Commander on the original Star Trek series episode "Balance of Terror".
In 2008, Diamond Select Toys produce an exceptional Star Trek 8-inch scale Mego Repro ROMULAN action figure.
Mego Star Trek Romulan Head Sculpt
This 8-inch scale Romulan head sculpt bears a pretty good resemblance to actor Mark Lenard who also played General Urko on the Planet of the Apes television series. Ironically, Romulans and Vulcans are really the same race. That said, this Mego Romulan also looks very similar to the Mego 8-inch Mr. Spock figure who is a Vulcan.
8-Inch Scale Star Trek Romulan Outfit Design
The Mego Romulan action figure comes clad in a silver & black bodysuit. The material resembles the look of chain mail. The Romulan's wrists and neck are accented with a solid black fabric.
This 8-inch Star Trek figure wears reddish brown knee-high removable plastic boots.
The Mego Romulan figure includes a removable black plastic belt with detachable red phaser and communicator. These accessories are identical to the ones used by the Mego 8-inch Klingon action figure and the Mego 8-inch Gorn action figure.
The Romulan's suit is complete with a highly detailed removable gold vac-metal helmet. The 8-inch Romulan action figure from Mego is, by far, the rarest figure from the Star Trek series.
Star Trek 8-Inch Romulan Action Figure Variants
The Romulan action figure was produced as part of the second series of aliens for the Mego Star Trek line of 8-inch figures. This was also the third and final series of figures produced by Mego for the Star Trek line.
There are no known variants of this Mego Romulan figure.
