This 8" scale Talos action figure from the original Star Trek television series was produced by Mego as part of their 8-inch line of Star Trek action figures.
The Mego Talos figure is meant to represent one of the Talosian characters appearing in the pilot episode of the the original Star Trek series.
Mego Star Trek Talos Figure Head Sculpt
The 8-inch scale Mego Talos head sculpt is a really nice representation of the Talosians appearing in the original Star Trek series. However, this is where the resemblance ends (see outfit notes below).
8-Inch Star Trek Talos Action Figure Outfit
The Talosians on the Star Trek series wore simple white robes with gold chains and a large gold & black pendant around their necks. The Mego Talos figure is clad in a bright yellow bodysuit with black & gold trim near the ankles. Mego probably made these changes because they figured that the white robe would be too plain and drab for a children's action figure.
Sewn into the neck of Talos' bodysuit is a large black faux leather section with gold accents. Talos' entire neckpiece is usually found in poor condition due to the age and detailed work of the original Mego design.
Talos also wears a thick black belt around his waist which matches the faux-leather material used for the neck-piece.
On his feet, the Mego Talos figure wears short removable orange boots. These boots come just above Talos' ankles.
Mego Talos 8-Inch Scale Action Figure Body
The Star Trek Talos figure is part of the 8-inch scale line of Mego Star Trek figures. Talos himself, though, utilizes a smaller 7-inch scale Mego Teen Titans body. Like their larger counterparts, the 7-inch scale body has 14-points of articulation. These include neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, groin, knees, and ankles.
Star Trek 8-Inch Talos Action Figure Variants
Talos was produced as part of the second series of aliens for the Mego Star Trek line of 8-inch figures. This was also the third and final series of figures produced by Mego for the Star Trek line.
There are no known variants of this 8-inch scale Mego Talos figure.
