Toybiz Famous Cover Series 8-Inch Spider-Man Figure
Toybiz and Marvel Comics present this 8-inch scale Spider-Man figure as part of their Famous Cover Series line of figures. This Toybiz Spider-Man figure is the very first one released in the Famous Cover Series line of figures.
Packaging of the Toybiz 8-Inch Spider-Man Action Figure
The 8-inch scale Spider-Man figure from Toybiz comes in an 8" x 10" x approximately 2.5" deep box. The front panel of this Spider-Man's box opens like a book and is attached on the underside with a velcro latch.
Toybiz has designed the Famous Cover Series Spider-Man's box so that a circle is die-cut into the front panel revealing his face. When you lift that front panel, you reveal the entire Toybiz Spider-Man figure behind a clear plastic window.
All sides of the Famous Cover Series packaging from this Toybiz figure are covered in full-color graphics. The front panel also utilizes metallic gold foil highlights. Toybiz features the very first appearance of Spider-Man in Marvel Comics Amazing Fantasy number 15 on the front of the packaging of their Spider-Man figure.
Head Sculpt & Body of the 8-Inch Toybiz Spider-Man Action Figure
Underneath the removable cloth Spider-Man mask, is a unique Peter Parker head sculpt that would later be recycled for the Famous Cover Series Mister Fantastic figure.
Spider-Man utilizes a standard Famous Cover Series male super-hero body with 14-points of articulation which include his neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, groin, knees, and ankles.
Back Story of the Famous Cover Series Spider-Man Figure
Bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter Parker gained the proportionate strength, speed and agility of an arachnid. Armed with his trusty web shooters, Spider-Man swings through New York City with the grace and prowess of the most skilled gymnast, stopping criminals wherever they strike.
As seen in the Amazing Fantasy #15, August 1962.
After receiving his fantastic spider-powers, Peter decided to use his powers for material gain. The unfortunate youth soon learned from the death of his beloved Uncle Ben – a death Parker felt he could have prevented – that with great power such as his, there must also come great responsibility. From that day forward, Parker has used his spectacular powers against the forces of evil as the web-spinning, wall-crawling, ever-Amazing Spider-Man.
