Update: Actor Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, Lawless, Kill Your Darlings, Lincoln) will be taking on the role of the Green Goblin in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Where previous Spider-Man director Sam Raimi chose a mechanical Green Goblin suit that was very reminiscent of the Power Rangers, the current director Marc Webb is going with a much more organic looking Green Goblin. Even though fans were hoping for a rubber masked, purple and green comic book Goblin, Webb's Green Goblin is more like the traditional Goblin in that -- well he looks like a real goblin!
Here it is... your first look at the next Green Goblin! Even thought the latest trailer features Jamie Foxx as Electro and we all know that the Rhino is set to appear in the film as well, it looks like the Green Goblin may be making an appearance as well.
If the footage is accurate, Spider-Man's main nemesis should appear this summer in the much anticipated Amazing Spider-Man 2. The screen captures below are taken from the latest trailer featuring Electro. However, at precisely 3:30 you'll see a very quick shot of the frames below. Perhaps it will be a very brief cameo setting up the third film.
Initial designs for the Green Goblin's outfit haven't looked very promising, so here's hoping they get the costume design right this time.
