Sixth-Scale Wolverine Action Figure from Toybiz

Toybiz and Marvel Comics present this 12" dressed Wolverine.

Wolvie's head can rotate 180º and he has a total of nine points of articulation – typical of what we see in a traditional Barbie doll.

Each shoulder is a ball-joint which offers complete freedom of movement. Wolverine also has a click-type joint at each elbow (typical of Barbie dolls). Despite this enhancement, his elbows don't offer much in the way of movement. Wolverine's hips also have a ball-joint giving them a wide range of motion as well. Like the elbows, each knee also has a click-type joint that offers limited mobility.

This second edition sixth-scale Wolverine action figure from Toybiz reveals the X-Man clad in the iconic brown version of his uniform. The one-piece bodysuit is stitched from brown and orange spandex-like material and utilizes a velcro latch down the spine.

A removable wide red belt with black buckle has a crudely painted "X" on the center. Wolverine's brown and black boots are made from a soft rubber material. His brown gloves with silver claws extended are fully open on one side to allow them to be attached to the figure.

A removable soft rubber mask can be placed over Logan's fully-sculpted and sneering face.

Although this is one of the very first sixth-scale Wolverine figures ever made, it definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Regardless of the nine-points of articulation, the legs and arms barely bend at the knees and elbows. Toybiz used one single body type for all of their male figures in this line and it is absolutely HUGE. The bulky body would be better suited to a Hulk type character and doesn't work so well as a generic body. The chest is so massive that it actually looks like the figure has breasts when you view it from the side. All that said, the outfit itself is decent and well-crafted. I'm not a big fan of the open-style gloves, but I understand that this was the most practical way to get the gloves on and off of the figure. The head sculpt is appropriate for a figure of this type and certainly looks a lot like Logan. The masks tends to look a little funny when you put it on because it's so thick that it makes the head that much bigger. This is certainly not the best sixth-scale Wolverine figure out there, but a fun piece all the same.
