Sixth-Scale Storm Action Figure from Toybiz

Toybiz and Marvel Comics present this 12" dressed Storm.

Storm has limited articulation for a sixth-scale figure. The seven points of articulation this figure does have are typical of what we see in a traditional Barbie doll.

The head has full freedom of movement and can rotate 180º and also tip back and forth.

Each shoulder is a ball-joint which offers complete freedom of movement. However, there's no articulation in the wrists or elbows -- the arms are in a permanent "V" position.

Storm's legs can move forward and back at the hip but this is not a ball-joint like the ones used for the arms/shoulders. Each knee has a click-type joint typical of Barbie dolls.

Storm • Ororo Munroe

Growing up an orphan on the streets of Cairo and later worshiped as a goddess in Africa, Ororo Munroe never had much of a normal life. Now taking the name Storm, she has found her place as a leader of the X-Men team! With the mutant ability to control the forces of weather, Storm could create a lightning-filled tempest from out of a sunny day! Respected as much for her wisdom and leadership as for her amazing powers, Storm knows that she now has the life and family she never had before – with the Uncanny X-Men!

Years ago, when I saw this figure on clearance, I had to buy it. While I hate the Barbie-style articulation, it was the first (and still only) sixth-scale Storm figure. I also didn't really care about the civilian outfit as this wasn't a big aspect of the Storm character in X-Men books, but I suspect this was done by Toybiz to give these figures a broader appeal and reach young girls who might not be interested in comic books. Another reason I didn't buy this figure at full price was because I prefer Storm in her original black outfit instead of this white version. All that said, the head sculpt is really nice and a perfect likeness of Storm. Female figures with long hair should always have rooted hair so that was another plus for me. If you can pick this Storm figure up for a good price, it's great to use for customizing your own Storm. Pop the head and uniform onto a sixth-scale articulated body and voila!
