Sixth-Scale Gambit Action Figure from Toybiz
Toybiz presents this Special Edition Series sixth-scale Gambit action figure.
From the pages of the X-Men and Marvel Comics comes the Ragin' Cajun as this 12-inch tall, articulated, and dressed action figure. This figure was released in 1998 as part of the Special Edition Series from Toybiz.
Toybiz 12-Inch Gambit Head Sculpt
This sixth-scale Gambit is one mean looking character. The sculpted light brown hair encircles Gambit's face much the way his black mask does. The whites of Gambit's eyes are actually black and the pupils are red.
Gambit's face is mature and creased in a scowl-like appearance. This Toybiz Cajun is definitely Ragin'.
Special Edition Series Gambit Outfit Design
Gambit comes clad in his iconic X-Men uniform. He wears an over-sized light brown trench coat made from a pleather-like material. Under the trench coat, Gambit is fitted in a detailed one-piece bodysuit stitched from high-quality spandex material.
The mid-section of the torso is made from a solid magenta which is stitched-in to varied materials across the chest and at the waist. Above the chest is a blue spandex with printed black lines. The seam of these two sections is covered in a soft raised and segmented ridge that circles the figure.
Above the blue material of the upper torso, a black piece of spandex is stitched-in at the neckline. This material goes up to Gambit's hairline with an opening for his face to peak through.
At the waistline is a similar raised ridge which covers the stitching between the magenta torso and the black leggings that cover Gambit's legs. The leggings have a purple pattern printed up the thighs.
Gambit's boots are made from a similar blue spandex material which is carefully stitched with detailed kneepads.
Each of Gambit's hands has a painted on glove with fingers revealed from the knuckles up. The four fingers of each hand are arched around to touch the thumbs creating a circular opening where the sixth-scale Toybiz Gambit figure can hold items.
Sixth-Scale Gambit Action Figure Body Type
Gambit's head can rotate 180º and he has a total of nine points of articulation – typical of what we see in a traditional Barbie doll.
Each shoulder of this Gambit action figure is ball-joint which offers complete freedom of movement. Gambit also has a click-type joint at each elbow (typical of Barbie dolls). Despite this enhancement, Gambit's elbows don't offer much in the way of movement.
Gambit's hips also have a ball-joint giving them a wide range of motion as well. Each knee has a click-type joint, but they work only as well as his elbows.
The Gambit Backstory from Toybiz
Armed with the mutant ability to charge an object with explosive kinetic energy, the ragin' Cajun called Gambit made a living as a thief before he encountered the X-Men. The martial arts expert put an end to his criminal ways, joined the team, and now uses his powers to fight for Professor X's dream of human/mutant cooperation.
