Sideshow Collectibles presents this Planet of the Apes 12-inch scale Mutant Jailor action figure from the live-action film, Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

Sent on a rescue mission to retrieve his colleague, Astronaut Brent finds himself on the strange yet familiar planet surface amongst a society of intelligent apes and a race of powerful telepathic mutants who are on the verge of war. Captivated by the telepathic powers of the Mutant Jailor and his followers, Brent and Nova witness an unsettling religious ceremony where the Mutant society worships the doomsday device responsible for the downfall of human civilization, an immense bomb. Brent and Taylor free themselves from the thrall of their Mutant Jailor, and begin a desperate fight to end the Ape and Mutant conflict, once and for all.

Head Sculpt of the 12-Inch Beneath the Planet of the Apes Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectibles

The head sculpt of this Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectibles is based on the make-up used for the human mutants in the live-action Beneath the Planet of the Apes movie. Specifically, this head sculpt (or face mask in this case) is made to resemble the unnamed Mutant Jailor. Like the Mutant Leader, the Mutant Jailor's face can be "removed" to reveal his true identity of a fleshy, veinous skin.

Body Type of the 12-Inch Scale Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectibles

The Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectibles features a fully articulated sixth-scale body with over 30-points of articulation. These points of articulation include ankles, knees, groin, waist, torso, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and neck.

The hands of the Mutant Jailor are molded from bone-colored plastic and made to look like wrist-length gloves.

The Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectibles is clad in a bone-colored outfit with matching stitching. The long-sleeved coat fastens to the matching shirt with hidden snaps on the underside of the coat. A matching hood clasps to the Mutant Leader's head with a miniature snap underneath the chin.

The Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectibles wears matching full-length pants. On his feet, the Mutant Leader wears similarly colored shoes that end short of his ankles. Underneath his shoes are removable white socks.

Sideshow Collectibles's has also provided the 12-inch Mutant Jailor with a long white religious garb which can be worn ceremoniously right over the rest of his mutant uniform.

The Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectible's comes with a Doomsday book of sacred scrolls and a small silver & red crystal rod to trigger their God -- the Doomsday Bomb!

As with all Sideshow Collectibles figures, the Mutant Jailor comes with a display base. The doll stand is made from molded black plastic with an adjustable silver metal arm. Painted on the base is a teal-colored Beneath the Planet of the Apes logo.

Back Story of the Sixth-Scale Mutant Jailor from Sideshow Collectibles

Some 2000 years into the future, man waged war so great, it rendered the human race nearly extinct. From this new civilization arose a civilization ruled by intelligent apes. Some humans survived the holocaust, but grew up as mute and uneducated foragers living in the wild. Before long, it was clear that the Ape was now dominant and man was servant. But another breed of Man also survived the holocaust – a mutated human who survived the catacombs of the urban metropolis. They were horribly deformed from the fallout, left with twisted, pale and veinous flesh. The Mutants regard this ghastly appearance as the "inmost self" and wear masks to resemble normal, un-mutated humans. The Mutant Leader controls his people with a devout religious existence, worshiping a bomb marked Alpha Omega: a Doomsday bomb with the power to destroy the Earth! The Mutant Leader heads a council of high priests and protectors of their kind, and conducts a daily mass where the mutants all gather and sing the praises of being the "Keepers of the Divine Bomb." The Mutant Leader preaches the "Glory of the Holy Weapon of Peace." To defend their existence from the apes, the Mutants have developed the ability to use "peaceful" mind control against their enemies, forcing enemies to kill each other, so that they don't have to. They can mentally see outside of their lair, which helps the Mutant Leader anticipate enemy attacks. But when astronauts Taylor and Brent invade their sacred hideout to escape from the Gorilla Army, these strange, un-mutated humans blur the lines of friend and foe. The Mutant Leader must decide who his true enemies are in a climactic conclusion with the fate of the Earth hanging in the balance!
