Mego and Marvel Comics present this fully articulated web-swinging Spider-Man action figure with authentic cloth uniform.

Spider-Man Mego ArtworkMego first released their 8" Spider-Man action figure along with Captain America in 1973 as part of their World's Greatest Super-Heroes line. These two figures represented the first two Marvel Comics releases from Mego.

Like Superman, Spider-Man's style has not changed much over the years. In 1973, Spider-Man was the up-and-coming hero relative to mainstays like Batman and Superman.

 

 

1960s Spider-Man animation.transparent-pixel-action-figuresSpider-Man's costume design has always created unique challenges in various mediums due to the amount of detail it involves. The original 1960s cartoon chose to eliminate a lot of the web lines in order to simplify the animation.

 

Head sculpt of the 8-Inch Mego Spider-Man

Mego took a lead from the 1960s animation and simplified the Spider-Man head sculpt. Instead of printing the lines of the webbing on Spider-Man's mask, Mego opted to simply have them impressed directly into the sculpt.
