DC Direct and DC Comics present this sixth scale Batman Beyond action figure.

Batman Beyond is the newest addition to DC Direct Line of realistically proportioned, super-heroic 1:6 scale figures! This fully poseable deluxe collector figure has 28 points of articulation. Terry McGinnis takes flight dressed in his authentically detailed Bat-suit, complete with glider wings. Also includes a display stand.

The DC Direct 13-inch Batman Beyond figure comes in a glossy oversized box (approximately 10" wide x 15" high x 3.5" deep). DC Direct has utilized a velcro patch on the underside of the front panel of Batman Beyond's box which opens like a book. When you open the front panel of this 13-inch figure's box, it reveals the Batman Beyond figure through a clear plastic panel.

The entire Batman Beyond box is covered on all sides with full color artwork and DC Comics logos.

Back Story of the DC Direct 13-Inch Batman Beyond Figure

In 2039, 16-year-old high school student Terry McGinnis is both an athlete and reformed delinquent with a strong internal moral compass, code of honor and sense of justice. When Terry's high speed chase with the terrifying Jokerz Gang drops him onto the grounds of Wayne Manor, an elderly and reclusive Bruce Wayne fights with Terry side-by-side to stave off the thugs. Terry returns home to find his father murdered. "Borrowing" the Bat-suit McGinnis goes after the man who killed his father much to the opposition of Bruce Wayne. Wayne takes the teen under his wings, developing a new high-tech Batsuit, while tutoring and training him in what he needs to know to combat crime in Neo-Gotham City.

There's no doubt about it that this figure looks just like the character from the Batman Beyond animated cartoon. Like all of the 13" action figures in this DC Direct line, the quality is pretty good.

Terry is clad in his usual one-piece black bodysuit with iconic red bat emblem on the chest. Around his waist is a removable black utility belt with silver hardware. That's about it... the design of the uniform is very simple. Since the DC animated cartoon spawned this character, it made sense to mimic the look of the animation used in the DC animated universe. Some people might feel that was a mistake since the style of Batman Beyond doesn't match with any of the other 13 inch DC Direct figures.

The head sculpt is highly stylized with extremely long bat-ears, silver eyes, and high arched brows -- again very animated. The entire head (except for the eyes) is painted a matte black.

While all of this simplicity is probably accurate for the cartoon style as well as the high-tech uniform that this version of Batman employs, it does come across a little as being overly simplified. This figure probably would have done better if it had actually been given a little bit more realism and detail similar to what we've seen in other 13 inch DC Direct figures.

Included with the Batman Beyond figure is a black display stand with the Batman Beyond logo gloss varnished onto the base of the stand. Batman Beyond also includes three sets of hands, although two appear to be duplicates. There are two sets of fists and one set of open palms.

The final accessory is Batman's detachable red cape wings.

Overall, a good likeness to the animated version of the character.
