Kenner STAR WARS 3-3/4" Action Figures
Kenner produced the very first line of Star Wars action figures based on the original Star Wars movie trilogy characters. Kenner secured this contract after George Lucas had approached Mego Corp. who declined to produced the figures.
Between 1977 to 1985 there were a total of over 100 unique 3.75" scale action Star Wars figures produced for this line from Kenner. A whoping total of over 300 million Star Wars action figures were sold manufactured and sold by Kenner.
Series 1/Wave A of Kenner's 3.75-inch Star Wars Action Figure
Wave A (aka Series 1) of this line of Star Wars toys was released in 1977 (the same year as the original Star Wars film) and included the original twelve figures known as the "12-back".
These included a 3.75" scale action figure of actor Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, a 3.75" scale Princess Leia figure, a 3.75" scale Han Solo figure, a 3.75" scale Chewbacca figure, a 3.75" scale C-3PO (See-Threepio) figure, a 3.75" scale R2D2 (Artoo-Deetoo) figure, a 3.75" scale Ben Obi Wan Kenobi figure, a 3.75" scale Darth Vader figure, a 3.75" scale Death Squad Commander figure, a 3.75" scale Jawa figure, a 3.75" scale Tuscan Raider (Sand People) figure, and a 3.75" scale Stormtrooper figure.
