Diamond Select THE CHAMPIONS BOX SET Marvel Minimates

Diamond Select Toys and Marvel Comics presents this Minimates Box Set of The Champions. This highly anticipated boxed set was sold exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con July 22-26, 2009 and limited to just 2,000 sets.

The Champions Marvel Minimates Box Set includes four of the original Champions team members - Angel (in his classic red outfit), Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), Black Widow, and Hercules!

The Champions comic book series from Marvel Comics was bi-monthly and ran from October 1974 through January 1978. Even though the Marvel Comics comic book only ran for a total of seventeen issues, the book remains popular with fans today.

Marvel has since lost the rights to use the title for a comic book due to a court ruling stating that they had abandoned their trademark after an extended period of not publishing any books. During the period that Marvel was not publishing any Champions material, Heroic Publishing's board game The Champions which was then adapted into a comic book.
