8-Inch World's Greatest Super-Heroes Super-Gals Figures from Mego
In 1974, Mego released their Super-Gals series which was, of course, part of their successful 8" World's Greatest Super-Heroes line of action figures.
The Super-Gals series included Supergirl, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, and Batgirl. Catwoman was the odd choice here since she's not really a hero but a villain. However, with Mego also releasing their Super-Foes collection that same year, Catwoman sort of crossed into both of these genres. Officially, though, Selina was part of the Super-Gals.
Mego's Super-Gals series marks the very first release of female figures in the World's Greatest Super-Heroes line.
Super-Gals were also the very first Mego World's Greatest Super-Heroes figures (male or female) that utilized rooted hair.
