BAM! POW! Over forty years after the Batman television series first hit the airwaves, Figures Toy Company is bringing us 8 inch Mego-style action figures of all of your favorite characters.
With insanely accurate head sculpts, this series promises to be be a must-have addition for vintage Mego collectors and new fans alike.
Figures Toy Company has revealed that Series one of the Classic Batman Series action figures will include Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, Frank Gorshin as The Riddler, and -- of course -- Cesar Romero as The Joker.
These Mego repro figures are starting at a price of about $25/figure -- not bad for a nicely articulated doll with fabric clothing, especially when you consider the $200-300 price point for Sideshow Collectibles 12" figures. If Figures Toy Company maintains that much lower price for the Batman Classic TV series, we may actually see these toys end up being played with by kids... imagine that!
Figures Toy Company appears to moving full-steam ahead with all of their Mego Repro figures. They've already announced that future series for the Batman Classic TV series line will include Burgess Meredith as The Penguin, Catwoman, Burt Ward as Dick Grayson, and Adam West as Bruce Wayne.
Other villains we can plan on seeing in the 8" Classic Batman TV Series include King Tut, Mr. Freeze, Shame, Bookworm, Mad Hatter, and a few variations of the Joker including prison baseball outfit Joker, the Joker in opera outfit, and The Joker in grey suit.
Additionally, Figures Toy Company plans on releasing an 8" Adam West Batman with removable cowl along with an 8" Burt Ward Robin with removable mask. Looks like it's time to dip into the kids college funds!!
