Marvel Comics Sixth-Scale Mego SPIDER-MAN Action Figure
This 12-inch Spider-Man action figure was released by Mego as part of their World's Greatest Super-Heroes line of action figures.
The sixth-scale Spider-Man with fabric uniform was released in several different packages. They include:
A blister pack; boxed; Spider-Man with fly-away action; and a Web-Spinning Spider-Man.
Even though Spider-Man is easily one of the most common Mego figures ever produced in the 8-inch scale format, all of the Mego sixth-scale figures are much more rare (and valuable) than their smaller companions. Another differnce between the 8-inch and 12-inch Spider-Man figures from Mego is that the sixth-scale version utilizes a body sculpted from all red plastic underneath the removable uniform.
The boxed version did not contain the black net-like webs on the back of the figure. The blister packed version did and this black webbing is clearly evident as you can see wrapped around the figure which is entirely visible through the clear plastic.
Sixth-Scale WEB SPINNING SPIDER-MAN Action Figure
The sixth-scale Web Spinning Spider-Man version was basically the same figure as the original blister pack version. The main difference was that it had a hollow arm which could be filled with web fluid once the hand was removed. Webs were then able to be produced from the wrists of the figure much like Spider-Man actually does in the Marvel Comics and films in which he appears.
